Hi Clan, I am a new Fantom-08 owner, and I confess, I'm technologically challenged at times ... I need your help: I am trying to figure out how to send both "audio and MIDI" to my Daw (Studio One) via USB ... I know the Fantom can do it (a Roland product specialists talks about it and says it can on one of their video - I have watch so many videos and still unable to figure it out - none address it with specificity) ... BUT no where does it explain how to do so ... if you know this ... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share... the manual says Fantom can transmit both audio and MIDI over the USB port if set to "Vendor" which I have done ... but can't figure out how to actually get it assigned or transmitted .... does that make sense? ... I would so much appreciate any insight and guidance you could share ... thank you ...
Donnie ...
Exporting Audio and MIDI through USB to DAW (Studio One Pro)
Re: Exporting Audio and MIDI through USB to DAW (Studio One Pro)
There are two things that are Fantom-specific:
- You need to set USB Driver to "VENDOR" on the Fantom-08 (which you said you did).
- You need to install the driver software for your operating system (see https://www.roland.com/global/products/ ... downloads/).

Hi ZP30 ... sure appreciate the note ... I will work on that .... you have any idea how to also get the MIDI per channel ... (e.g. I would like to be able to have the midi for the notes I entered in Fantom, in case I decide to do additional editing and possible use another VST later in the project) ... again, thank you very much for the instructions!!
Re: Exporting Audio and MIDI through USB to DAW (Studio One Pro)
Once you have the drivers installed on your computer the Fantom will show up as a MIDI device in your DAW.
Studio One requires you to set up an External Device in Preferences and choose a keyboard for in and out routing.
