External Keyboard - Global MIDI input channel?

Ok, I'm at a loss... When using the Juno with an external keyboard, according to the manual, you set the System > MIDI > Remote Kbd to something other than OFF, in my case USB COM. So you can control it from another device as if you were playing its keyboard (so you get all the part layering, etc.).

Seems that there is no way to set what single MIDI channel the Juno-X will receive when in this mode. It receives as MIDI OMNI (all channels). There has GOT to be a way to specify a single channel, but I see nothing in the manual for this...
Anyone?

BTW:
When not in this mode, it defaults to receive MIDI channels 1-5 (mapping to each of the Parts), seems you can only change this per scene but not globally. Which is a super big bummer... 🙁
