MV 8800 EFFECTS
MV 8800 EFFECTS
Hi, you know when you click the effects button you can see a filter, chorus and reverb, how do I select a compressor for each instrument ? Say I want to use a compressor on the kick first, so I make all the settings for that and that's done. Now I want to compress the snare, but I can only see the one compressor and if I change the settings on that for the snare I would have the same settings on the kick. How do I do this ?
Re: MV 8800 EFFECTS
so no one knows what i mean ?
Re: MV 8800 EFFECTS
You have just 3 or 4 effect units and it's send effect. It means if you want to compress kick on Track1, you need to route Track1 to MFX1 effect unit and choose Compressor for MFX1. If you want to compress snare on Track2, you can even route output of Track2 to MFX1, but it will have same compressor from MFX1 unit with same settings as Track1. Alternatively, you can route Track2 to MFX2 and choose compressor for MFX2 and set different settings of compressor at MFX2 unit. That's principle of send effects. Bad thing is you are limited by number of effect units - most probably you will run out of MFX units soon.
I am not MV-8800 owner, I cant advice you well. Go to your machine's "effect routing" menu, or see it at the user's manual. Yuo need to study MV's mixer and effects routing and became familiar with it.

Re: MV 8800 EFFECTS
Resample the drums you want to compress and assign them back to the pads.
The MV only has 1 insert effect and the intention of the design is to resample a lot.
