Hmmm cant find them now...odd.... was trying to see who was stocking them in the UK and Digital Village and Dolphin Music both had 'discontinued' on their MV pages.
Maybe they just can afford to stock them at the moment. Or I'm going mad.

Hi there,

I found that info about the MV8800 being discontinued on the DV247 site in the UK.

http://www.dv247.com/drums-and-percussion/roland-mv-880...

Is it true I wonder?

I think most UK dealers have stopped stocking it as a standard item. GC here in the states doesn't carry the MV, MPC2500 , or MPC-5000 in their retail shops anymore except for special order. The demand has slowed down for hardware samplers.

"Discontinued" sounds better than "we don't have it to sell". Hardware ,unlike software bundles, isn't drop shipped when the dealer doesn't want to carry it in inventory.

Well...I hope that they are coming up with a new and much better version then...

I would hate to see roland give up on 'big-boy' samplers.

Can't say for sure, but all fingers point to it being discontinued. Haven't been able to find it any new one's online. At least not from any major distributors. Same goes for the MPC2500. Hopefully this means they're about to release a new models. Guess we can only wait and see.

LOOK UNDER RECORDING GEAR. This store is 10 minutes from my house and where I bought my 8800 at right after they came out. They still have them and can still get them.

Im thinking about getting a MV8000 / MV8800 but as they have been discontinued, IMO its better to wait incase I get one then 2 months later a MV9000 comes along, but ive checked NAMM showcase for 2010 and there isnt a MV9000 listed. Are there any official Roland reps on this board that can give any hints or details on what Rolands market perspective might be towards the 'MV'.... Or anyone else with insider or useful info would be welcomed.

Im happy if theyre discontinued. If I look after mine it will eventually be worth a mint, especially if somebody comes up with a better way to get 512mb in there (which im sure they will). I love my MV.

LOL! Even if they never came out with another MV, I still can't find a product that does all of the following:

- pad sampler (and killer pads at that!)
- 8 stereo audio tracks
- midi sequencer
- automated faders
- dedicated OS

I love the MV not because it's the best at what it does, but it's practically alone in what it does! Other products come close (the MPC offers 8 mono instead of stereo tracks, and keyboard workstations are great if you need a keyboard). Of course, other products offer 24 bit recording, more tracks, and expandable plugins, which I would love to see in a future MV.

But even if they don't develop the line further, only a product that has all 5 things listed above would make me switch.
