Is it possible to sort files by name or by type in the HD of the MV?
In mine it's sorted by the last added.
sort files by name or by type?

Yes, but it is a 'work around' to get that result.otbt wrote:Is it possible to sort files by name or by type in the HD of the MV?

There are utilities that you can use to sort directly that will give you the desired listing. I have tried out FATSorter http://www.fenux.net/story/fatsorteroneohfour against the mv and this seemed to do the trick, putting all the files of the directory on the mv in alphabetical order, with apparently (?) no ill effects.
However if you want to try it or similar utilities then always make a complete back of everything first and never use it without a current backup.
Hope that helpsFATSorter
The FAT file system doesn't support sorting directory entries…the files will show in the order they were added to the directory. … To get around the problem, we cheat. By making a temporary directory, moving all the files to it, and then moving them back, in the new order… (so it could take a long time too... Bighare)
