MV-8800 Will Not Arm Track For Recording

Post by brainstorm.johnson »

I have started using a Roland MV8800, unfortuneately when I try to record on a track it will not pull up the recording parameter screen. The "record" button will not light up either. I have followed countless instructions on the Roland site and on You Tube with no luck. Everything works as expected except for the record function, the "button" has no function. Any help is greatly appreciated. By the way this is in Pattern mode, just trying to get the hang of the machine. Thanks.

Sounds like you have a bad tact switch. This is common in most synths/samplers. It's a pain, but ultimately an easy fix. I would take it to a music store for repair. Shouldn't cost very much. Maybe $50. Good luck with that amazingly under-rated instrument. Mine is named Wolfgang, and he would kill for me. Very loyal.

I'm not on here much I know this is from a few months ago....

If you haven't already replaced the tact switch, there's an easy work around.

Just use your mouse and click record on the screen.
