I had a stall with the OS update and the MV just boots to a green display regardless of what key presses are used at startup. Holding Disk/USB and Instruments does not go to the CD update menu. The display remains green. I burned the disk using ISO 9660 level 1 in Toast but I don't seem to be getting that far.
There is a reset switch on the main board that thus far does not seem to do anything.
I emailed the Roland service center and they said to send it in. Fair enough but I am open to trying potential fixes.
**it occurred to me that the ram is a 512 mb kingston, tomorrow I will go to the computer shop and pick up a 128 and see if that helps.

Re: MV-8000 not booting from CD or HD
That amount of Ram should be perfectly fine. In fact people have had success with 1GB it just doesn't show it.
You didn't by chance try to put an 8800 update on your 8000 did you? Because that would be bad.
