MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
What´s up fam,
I had to change some sliders on my 2nd MV so I needed to disassemble it completely. I am sharing the pics I have taken during the process, I hope they come in handy for ya...
I haven´t documented the few minor steps like removing the backplate, the sidepanels, etc. I think you guys can figure this out yourselves easily ;)

I don't know how I missed this post. Danke Soul One!
I really need to break both my MV's all way down to spring clean them.

Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
BTW... What was the part number for the sliders and where did you get them from?
Thx!
Thx!
Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
I got the sliders from Roland Germany directly. Can´t remember the part number, but you can easily look it up in the service manual.
I wasn´t able to source this part from Mouser or the likes because it was discontinued a long time ago. Luckily Roland still had some.

Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
The original sliders were made by Panasonic. What makes them special is the pin layout. Like I said, I wasn't able to source them for a price that's cheaper than the ones from Roland directly. I saw them on alibaba and some other sites...in some cases for ridiculous prices!
Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
SoulOne, have you got any pics of the other side of the final PCB, the one with the buttons, sliders knobs etc?
Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
Unfortunately only from the part where the sliders are. Let me know if that would help and I´ll upload it here!
Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics
Yes it would help!!! Thanks in advance.
Re: MV-8800 complete disassembly with pics

MV-8000 Slider Repair...
Alternate Slider 30mm (10 k ohm) replacement - Panasonic EWANA0C10B14 - that fits the through-hole pattern on the Roland MV-8000 PCB (you'll need to un-solder/re-solder replacement), but also must solder a jumper wire (see image below) between two pads on PCB (on underside) for each slider replaced. I am assuming this slider replacement will work for MV-8800.
Here is link for Reverb.com to purchase this Slider part:
