Syncing MV w/Two VS2480 w/DIF-24

Post by erange »

This is more of a VS forum question but I’ll give it a try with the nation. I will try to simplify...

I’m running two VS2480’s sync’d with midi & spdif or optical, and sync’d on MV via R-Bus slave.
I’ve got 3 of my 4 R-Bus ports filled with XV5080’s.
The 4th R-Bus has the MV.
Everything was locked TIGHT!

I’m trying to use a second midi keyboard in the setup, via two DIF-AT24.
I can get both keyboards to play, but I no longer have sync between MV and VS.
I have the MV DIF connected to VS DIF via optical for my 8 in/out.

It appears that I can only have rbus syncing or two keyboards, not both.
I’ve played around with various connections, but I’m really scratching my head on this one.
Any help is appreciated!

Without knowing what kind of keyboard you are using, it could be that it is sending conflicting clock information, and screwing up the sync. I too use an MV and a VS and they are a great combo.
Check the manual and see if it sends MIDI clock or MTC and if so if you have the keyboard set to MASTER.

Long shot this but do you still have your DIF-AT boxes and are you looking to sell one of them?

Thanks.
