Show tempo track and record to it by tapping

Hi, I'm a recent newbie to mv-8000 but have quite a bit of experience with other Roland sequencers in mc-80, Fantom x, g etc.

I have already worked out how to activate the tempo track and manually insert tempo changes to basically create a "tempo map".

I'd like to record to the tempo track by tapping the TAP button so I can more quickly map out tempo changes in a pre-existing audio track. I'm just not sure how to achieve this.

I'm using VGA & mouse, in case that is relevant.

Also, can anybody confirm that it is/isn't possible to record into the tempo track in realtime by tapping?
