Hello,
how can I test if the aftertouch is working on my D50 ?
I tryed to press keys at different pressures and velocities but I do not notice
any changes in the sounds...
is it normal ?
thank you
Rick
D50 and aftertouch does not work ?
Re: D50 and aftertouch does not work ?
I don't think the D-50 has an aftertouch keyboard... I need to check that on the manual.fddi73 wrote:Hello,

But I'm sure you can assign that function to a control pedal...
Re: D50 and aftertouch does not work ?
It's a command problem with the D-50 sadly...
Re: D50 and aftertouch does not work ?
I have noticed that only certain patches use the after touch facility. Also, you need to push the aftertouch slider fully up.
The patch "A D A M" demonstrates the difference in sound quite well, when you push the key a little harder.
There are probably other patches that sound better, it's just that that is the first one I noticed on my D50, when trying it.

In fact the D-50 has Aftertouch all right. It s just a matter to configure it to map to a specific parameter. Take a look to the Owners ManualRigil wrote:I have noticed that only certain patches use the after touch facility. Also, you need to push the aftertouch slider fully up.

Re: D50 and aftertouch does not work ?
Put the D50 into test mode: Hold "0" (Ten-keypad) and DECREMENT then turn the power on. The display will show Test Mode menu. (If it shows either "Reverb Error" or "Chorus Error" , then you have to press EXIT to go to the relevant menu. ( This would happen only if you have a faulty IC in either of these areas). The 5 buttons below the LCD act as test routine selectors. Buttons for returning to test mode, During panel test...Press and hold SHIFT then PATCH EDIT. During other tests.... Press EXIT. You can use this mode to test your RAM, Panel buttons, Keys, Aftertouch, Pitch Bend, Velocity etc.
Have fun, Paul

Re: D50 and aftertouch does not work ?
After going into 'test' mode (and also by observing MIDI data) the maximum aftertouch value I can get (which very high pressure) is 50 out of 127. Is there a way to adjust sensitivity or 'clean' something?

First you need to go to patch edit, Common and AfPB to switch on AfterTouch. Then you use the AfterTouch slider to set the AfterTouch velocity.
