Combining V1.0 and V2.0 sounds

Post by keys »

Jupiter-80 just added to my synth collection - Wow - big thick fat glorious sounds, enormous potential, looking forward to using it. It is a bit special when you hear it and play it in real life. Well done Roland
My J80 came with V1.2 I think. So I backed up and loaded Version 2.
I much prefer the V1 stock registrations so I reintroduced them.
Now - if I want to bring in some of the V2 registrations (say 16 of them) to add onto V1 - how do I go about that - hmmmm ??

You don't say if you've gone back to v1 or not.

It would be better if you stay with v2 as you get the benefit of the extra filters + other stuff.

In which case re-install v1 (if not currently installed) and use the export function (in system menu) and export to USB your selected sounds.

Then install v2. Once complete, go to system again and select import, navigate to your USB-stored files and import the files. You will have to map them to empty slots at all levels (registration, liveset and tones).

Once done, you've got all the v2 sounds plus your selected v1 sounds. :)

Reading this makes me wonder what I'm missing out on! My JP80 came with V2.0 installed. Is there any way to temporarily revert to V1 (I didn't find a v1 download on Roland's site), or is there a place I can download the v1 registrations? Also (more importantly) are the live sets & tones different as well??

I have just got my new JP80 this week end,

words don't come easy, I am in love with this keyboard.

JP80 came with v2 loaded but I wanted to check v1 registrations to pick up the ones I may like.

Any idea how to do this now?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks RayS, but the problem is that I never had v1.0 and do not have a back up, JP80 came with v2.0 already installed?

Send me a PM, and I'll send the version 1 sounds to you.
