Arpeggiator - No "normal" mode

Post by Redrain68 »

Hi

I found that there is no way to use the arpeggiator in a normal way, my other synth's arpeggiator work all in the classic way, but the JDXA arp is too strange, ok it can do something that other arp can't d but.. I need also a normal Arp !

thank you

I am not sure what you mean by normal mode? but in the arpeggio section of the JDXA there are all kinds of choices in the motif section. You can choose "UP" "Down" "UP and DOWN" "Random" etc. I think that pretty much fits the normal mode? Or are you describing something different?

Just discovered something that may be relevant...

Using an INIT sound (I'm using G-01) - I set up an arp using Up (_ ). Grid is 1/8th, tempo 60. Play C, E, G together and you get the pattern you want.

However using the above settings and change the OCTAVE RANGE to +1, the pattern no longer plays; it does something else.

If I go back to OCTAVE RANGE = 0, and I play C, E, G in left AND right hand, I then get the two octave pattern in your first two sound clips.

So - seems like something funny going on when OCTAVE RANGE is used...

YES ! the octave range is the point ! when setted different from zero semething happen !
Maybe , this is a feature, because the arpegiator of the JDXA is very complex

Yeah, the Arpeggiator in my JD-XA seems very jacked up, impossible to get to standard running arpeggio from it. Same weird un-usable results as mentioned.

When I play A-B-C chord on a standard synth (Poly-61, Juno-60, you name it, etc), set to UP and 1 octave you get

A - B - C - A(+1 oct) - B(+1 oct) - C(+1 oct)

do the same on the JD-XA set UP(_ ) and OCT +1 you get some random downward motif ???? HUH???

UP (L) or UP(L&H) you get one note repeating no matter what chord you hold or octave amount. Very annoying arpeggiator.

Maybe I need a factory reset??
