Quite amazed by the huge sound from this little synth. The supernatural va engine never fails to impress me, i enjoyed the same great sounds on my FA.
Here's my latest track to prove the point...

Roland do the lushest pads
Re: Roland do the lushest pads
That's a great track!
Did you do it all in the JD-Xi or did you do post-processing in a DAW?
Did you use presets or did you create your own sounds for this track?

Well done !
Re: Roland do the lushest pads
Hey, thanks for checking it out. Did some synthwave stuff as well that you might enjoy, plus a couple of new tracks coming out during the weekend. cheers :)
In answer to baz, I created the pattern myself and then played the performance in one take, whilst jamming over the pattern. No multi-tracking in the DAW or any cheating :)
I cut out of the video to the animation because it gets a bit boring watching the Xi cycle through the pattern, a lot of the time I'm not doing much apart from turning knobs and pressing a few buttons, playing a few lines on the keys, but there are lengthy periods with no action. thought the animation would be more entertaining :)

Re: Roland do the lushest pads
I agree about the pads being most lush. I haven't had a Roland synth since my Juno 106 back in the 90s. Since then I've had most of the usual suspects. Model D (original), Nord Lead 2, MS2K, Triton Le etc. Recently I've added the Sub37, OB-6 Desktop and the JD-XI. I think the lushness has to do with the envelopes. Roland's just seem tighter for lack of a better word. They remind a little of the NL2 envelopes. Nice track btw.
