Thank you! After resizing screen fonts I got result! Now I can use drums window too!!!driva wrote:Hi! Done. I sent you e-mail "About frozen drums window" to address from official page of JDXI Manager. Will wait for solution. Thank you!baz55 wrote:Can you please email me a screenshot (not a photo, an actual screenshot done by pressing the 'PrtScrn' key and then pasting it into 'Paint' and saving it) of the 'grey window' you are getting so I can try to understand at which exact point the program hangs?driva wrote:Hi! Thank you for the cool application! I have problem with opening "DRUMS" window ("Digital" and "Analog" windows I can open): just grey window without any interface elements, and application getting frozen. This problem I have on Win 7 (64-bit).
You can find my email address on the JDXi Manager website in the Support section:

In general the JDXi Manager should work and does work on Win7 64 bit, I test it myself on Win7 64 bit.
JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthesizer

Damn this is exactly what I want! baz55, please add this if possible, and thank you for the already amazing program.Sequentonal wrote: Also, midi learn so the editor could be controlled with knobs etc would be insanely useful :)
Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Thanks to driva for bringing a bug to my attention. With the help of the screenshot he provided me I was able to find the cause of the bug, which I will hopefully be able to fix for the next release.
In the meantime if anybody else is experiencing this bug (drum editor window being blank and freezing up the program), this is caused by having set Windows to a larger than default text size. The only workaround until I fix this bug is to change the Windows text size back to default.
This can be done in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel here:
Control Panel > Appearance and Personalisation > Display > Make text and other items larger or smaller
Change it back to 100% (default)

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
That is an addition that would require quite a lot of work to implement. I'm not saying it won't happen, but don't expect it anytime soon, there are many other things that are more urgent first.anon wrote:Damn this is exactly what I want! baz55, please add this if possible, and thank you for the already amazing program.Sequentonal wrote:Also, midi learn so the editor could be controlled with knobs etc would be insanely useful :)
Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
baz55, the new update with the scroll wheel stuff is working great here. Thanks for that. You are literally kicking ass and taking names with this software. Take a break if and when you need it! That is an order. We don't want our JD-XI Software Specialist getting burnt out. Again, THANKS!That is an addition that would require quite a lot of work to implement. Don't worry, I only work on the editor when I have the time for it and feel like doing so.knobacon wrote:Take a break if and when you need it! That is an order. We don't want our JD-XI Software Specialist getting burnt out. Again, THANKS!

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Just (re)registered here so I could comment on JDXi Manager. :)
Loving it so far. Looking forward to when all the features are implemented.
One comment/issue though: the scroll wheel doesn't work the way I would like on the drop down lists (such as PCM waveforms). If I click the drop down, I can scroll through it, but then I have to click on one for it to take effect. It would be nice to be able to hover the mouse over the box and scroll through the PCM waveforms on the fly when auditioning them or looking for the right one. Currently doing this has no effect. I'm using the latest version (0.23) on Windows 10.
Other suggestions for future enhancements (after the Program and Effects editors are done):
1. Add the ability to edit more than one partial at the same time, similar to the way it works on the JD-Xi itself. Even better, allow the individual sections to be synced together across partials or not (e.g. lock LFO settings but leave filter settings individual per partial).
2. Add a partial copy and/or swap (i.e. copy partial 1 to 2, or swap partials 1 & 3, etc. Also for drum partials.
3. (Similar to 2 above): allow partials to be copied/moved between Digital Synth 1 and 2. Or allow individual partials to be loaded from a saved patch file (i.e. load just partial 1 from JDXi-SN-SomePatch.syx, then load partial 2 from JDXi-SN-AnotherPatch.syx) etc. Also handy for piecing together drum kits using sounds from other saved kits.
4. Compare function (show patch as loaded before edits were made, then back again).
5. Undo and Redo.
6. Have changes made on the front panel of the JD-Xi be immediately reflected in the editor (i.e. turning the cutoff knob updates the cutoff slider in the corresponding part editor).

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Thanks, that's some good suggestions, some of them are doable without a lot of effort while some others are a lot harder to implement. I'll definitely keep them in mind but can't make any promises right now with regards to which ones I'll be able to implement.
Meanwhile here's a sneak preview of how the JDXi Manager Control Panel looks currently with buttons for effects, vocoder/autonote, arpeggio and program sections added (some are still inactive therefore greyed out):

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Here's a big feature request for you... How difficult would it be to assign incoming CCs to parameters that could then be sent as outgoing sysex to the JD-Xi? That would be a killer feature! MIDI learn would be unbelievably cool!
Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Great work man! Many thanks.
If you have time, would it be possible to add a lock button for the Pitch section of the Depth Knob?
Have a nice day.

Thanks for the kind words and a nice day to you too.
Unfortunately I'm not sure what you mean, where exactly would you like a lock button, and to lock what exactly?ujanbo wrote:If you have time, would it be possible to add a lock button for the Pitch section of the Depth Knob?

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
Hi baz55, and thank you for your fantastic work.
Is it possible to edit or create new arpeggios style to have a workaround with this problem? viewtopic.php?f=58&t=53524
Thank you for your reply!

Re: JDXi Manager - Patch Editor for the Roland JD-Xi Synthes
I don't know, my knowledge of arpeggiators is rather limited and I have not looked at the editing capabilities of the JD-Xi arpeggiator yet, but this is something anybody can look into, as all editable parameters are described in the JD-XI Parameter Guide PDF (page 29):sbardy wrote:Is it possible to edit or create new arpeggios style to have a workaround with this problem? viewtopic.php?f=58&t=53524

baz55, thank you so much for your work. I'm sure it is appreciated more than you hear about.
