I am about to acquire a JD-XA.
It's a bit of a long story - I was hankering for something with Vocoder functionality, and was tossing between a Microkorg and a JD-XI when my local store heavily reduced the price of the JD-XA. It was a no-brainer.
From what I have learnt - I will need to supply my own Mic to use the vocoder.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what Mic is ideal to pair with this synth?
I'm considering a Shure SM58.
I suspect this thread may get updated by me with further dumb questions once I get my hands on the synth and get going.
Thanks all - and great forum!!

Any XLR will be fine, after all it's a vocoder, signals are going to get mashed up anyway. I use the gooseneck that came with the Ultranova, sounds perfect.

A Shure SM58 or SM57 are ideal.
The Audix OM5 is another winner, IMHO.
