Hi rob.

(These instructions are intended for the V-Synth keyboard. The procedure may be different for the XT).

To enter service test mode, turn off the V-Synth keyboard...

1) Turn it off.
2) Press and hold the -OCT, +OCT, and 8 buttons at the same time.
3) While still holding those buttons, turn on the V-Synth. Continue holding the buttons until you hear a beep.

You will enter in to the special test mode. You can use the VALUE dial to select the test to run and press the DEC/- button to enter the selected test function. You can also use the UP and DOWN arrow buttons to select different tests (then the DEC/- button to enter that test). While in most tests, you can press MODE to exit to the main test screen. In the main test screen, pressing the RIGHT arrow button beings the first test. As soon as one test is completed successfully, you'll automatically be moved to the next test. In most tests you can press the RIGHT arrow button to continue to the next test regardless of successful completion.

To exit test mode, turn off the V-Synth. I'd suggest not turning it off in the middle of a memory test though.

Remember, use this mode at your own risk. It is intended only for service technicians.
