Look what I've found:

Could anyone make it work with 808?

It might be done. But I can't find the sysex implementation of the mc-808.

I think only the device id has to be changed.

Can anyone send me some sysex date to analyze.

If not, MB this:

F0 41 10 00 00 14 12 11 00 20 2C 00 00 00 00 23 F7

This string changes tone1's wave to off.

The 808 ID should be here I guess.

Ok, that's enough.

Not only the model ids are different, the parameter address maps are different, too. It's a little bit more to do than I thought first.

I'm on the way ...

Doesn't work w/808.

I tried to send to rhythm, to arpeggio temp, to arpeggio 1.
But arpeggio 1 in every case plays the same default pattern.

I think we need a step by step manual for 808.

Let's see what it takes with Fantom and try w/808:

A) Prepare your Fantom

1. Connect the Midi Input of your fantom to the Midi Out of your Computer. If you use Midi via USB be sure you have enabled Midi Mode. DONE
2. Set the DeviceID to 17 DONE
3. Enable Receive Exclusive DONE

B) Quickstart

Send arpeggio or rhythm pattern to temporary area

1. Select the correct Midi Device with [Settings | Midi Devices] and Model with [Settings | Model Selection]. First time you have to restart the application.
DONE
2. Open a Midi File DONE
3. Select track DONE
4. Select bar DONE
5. Select Arpeggio or Rhythm Pattern DONE
6. Select Temp DONE
7. Click on Send Track x Bar y To Fantom - Button DONE
8. Press [Shift]+[Rhythm] or [Shift]+[Arpeggio], F2 und F6 at the Fantom to preview the result *** NO SUCH THING IN 808 ***

Send arpeggio or rhythm pattern to user area

8. Press [Menu] [Utility] [Enter] [F4] to select Fantom's Librarian Mode *** NO SUCH THING IN 808 ***
11. Press [Shift]+[Rhythm] or [Shift]+[Arpeggio], F2 und F6 at the Fantom to preview the result *** NO SUCH THING IN 808 ***

Hi Total,

first there is no crash anymore with the version I build for you?

If there is no note data within the main window there is nothing to transmit and the resulting pattern is empty. Be sure you have something to transmit. Choose a bar within a track containing note data.

Did you choose the Model MC-808?

Did you try the Show SysEx option. If you select this option you see a dialog with the sysex data before it is being sent.

I dont't think the problem is you have to reach a state enabling the mc-808 to receive the data. For sending data to the temp area it should be sufficient to select Receive Sysex on.

Because I don't have the address map for the permant arp 1-128. Only the temporary arpeggio is supported!

If you select a arpeggio from 1 - 128 the temporary area will be replaced with this data. So you have to immediatedly play or try to write the arp to a permanent place after having sent the data from your pc. So don't try to view: play or write it instantly.

Please sent me sysex data output while selecting arp pattern 1.

What is the first and default device ID on the mc-808? Is it also 17? Maybe roland counts here from 0 and from 1?

"first there is no crash anymore with the version I build for you? "

No crash :)

"If there is no note data within the main window there is nothing to transmit and the resulting pattern is empty. Be sure you have something to transmit. Choose a bar within a track containing note data. "

Sure.

"Did you choose the Model MC-808? "

Yes.

"Did you try the Show SysEx option. If you select this option you see a dialog with the sysex data before it is being sent. "

in midiox? yes, it's ON. And no sysex gets reported, although roland is on both ox's midi in and out

"I think the problem is you have to reach a state enabling the mc-808 to receive the data. For sending data to the temp area it should be sufficient to select Receive Sysex on. "

rx exclusive: ON

"Because I don't have the address map for the permant arp 1-128. Only the temporary arpeggio is supported! "

1) formulate the question / request to Roland and I will forward it to my rep. This way we'll get ALL you need.

2) no such thing as temp arp in 808 afaik. but being at arp 20 I tried both importing to temp and to 20.

"If you select a arpeggio from 1 - 128 the temporary area will be replaced with this data. So you have to immediatedly play or try to write the arp to a permanent place after having sent the data from your pc. So don't try to view: play or write it instantly. "

I try to play - no difference.

Please sent me sysex data output while selecting arp pattern 1.
" TIMESTAMP IN PORT STATUS DATA1 DATA2 CHAN NOTE EVENT

00066CC5 2 3 F0 Buffer: 14 Bytes System Exclusive
00066CC7 2 3 F0 Buffer: 14 Bytes System Exclusive "

Important: the same message I get when selecting any other arp - can you imagine that? only the timestamp is different.

"What is the first and default device ID on the mc-808? Is it also 17? "
Yes.

Looks like we need sum more patience :)

Greetings

Tom
