Changing the rhythm pattern in performance mode

Hi,
I own an X7 and play in a live 90s club classics trio. The x7 is perfect for this but we sometimes go out as a duo, so I programme the basic drum patterns and trigger them with a pedal. My problem is I can set the different kits for each performance group, and programme the drum patterns. (I keep it simple and use the same pattern for the whole song) but I can’t find a way to get the pattern to change when I bring up the next performance. I have to shift/rhythm and change it that way for each song. My rhythm button is also starting to fail.
Any ideas would make it much smoother between songs (and I’d love you forever)
