Re: ZEN-Core Synthesis System
Maybe if someone has a Jupiter Xm and Fantom they could do a test, see what happens when you bring a Fantom patch with a V-Piano over to the Jupiter and what happens when you bring a ABM containing patch from the Jupiter to the Fantom?

Re: ZEN-Core Synthesis System
Any details on the rest of the update? I assume it can’t just be import/export of this new file format.

Re: UK price drops for Fantom 6
Price fluctuations are inevitable and normally you’d expect digital equipment to drop in price after initial release as dealers start pushing the price down to get more sales. But having said that £500 is a lot to drop by. In the states it has dropped by about $150, which seems more in line with dea...

Re: Fantom semi -weighted keys. aftertouch unusable
I've been playing synths since 1991, and I couldn't care less about aftertouch on any synths I've owned or played. I personally don't find it musically useful at all. Cool story bro. It was however a selling point of this keyboard, and others do find it useful including myself. Roland should make a...

Re: Fantom waves
The Jupiter has some extra filters and I believe other “engines” than just the VA. The Fantom has VA, PCM, Drum and VPiano engines, it does however have a touchscreen. You can think of the relationship between the two like lieutenant Dan and Forest.

Re: Fantom semi -weighted keys. aftertouch unusable
If you have access to a DAW you can troubleshoot the problem further. On the 8 recording a track with AT automation recording enables results in clear 0% - 100% and back jumps with no interim values. It just takes so much pressure than when you get there it jumps all the way then there’s no human me...

Re: Bugs Thread (Hardware/Firmware/Software)
Aftertouch is completely broken on the 8. Not only does it require immense pressure that will break the keybed and injure your hands to activate resulting in a hard 0-128 instantly with no slope, it requires even more pressure when more keys are being pressed! Some calibration tools and options in t...

Re: Fantom 7 Damaged :(
Oh some other things to consider. Size and weight, the hammer action keybed is a lot heavier, you will need a more sturdy stand and space for the larger keyboard. 88 notes of course is nice for the extended range. Personally I’d go for the 88 any day if it were the same price, not least because that...

Re: Fantom 7 Damaged :(
The weighted keys feel fantastic (Rolands keybed is one of the best out there), however there are two caveats : 1. Aftertouch is broken on the 8, simply unusable currently. You will break your hands or the keyboard trying to get it to work it requires that much force (I am not joking). No idea of th...

Re: Easy Recording...???
Expertise is the art of building unsupported bridges. Each step towards the goal is incredibly simple, but its dependent on the previous step and the bigger the step the more tenuous and poorer the foundation for what comes next and the weaker the whole structure will become. Think about the iPhone....

Re: Easy Recording...???
The Fantom has onboard recording that’s fairly easy, it is Abelton like in workflow. However there really is nothing wrong with using a DAW, you may have the wrong perception about their workflow from your experience with Ableton. Most DAWs work like standard reel to reel tape machine, only without ...

Re: Firmware 1.10 update failed
You should start in external device 1 then move to 2 or 3. Based on your description here it sounds like in both cases you ended in external device 1, is that correct? Wasn’t there also a button you had to press once you re-plugged it back in? Another possibility is that the download was corrupt or ...

Scene writing issues?
Anyone else experiencing issues when writing scenes? When you save a scene with assigned faders the first fader is always reset to 0 when you revisit the scene, and sometimes the FX routing gets messed up too? Also does anyone know if there's a way to write the whole scene + zones rather than having...

Re: 'Soft' pedal
I was trying to see if there's a way to route the CC to change an actual V-Piano control in order that it would apply before the string resonance stuff (so you wouldn't get a hard cutoff for the effect). I can't see a way to do this though. You are right that soft doesn't just reduce the volume it m...
