Re: What synthesizers do you own?
At this moment in time I have;
Roland Fantom X6 with SRX-07 plus all the planet series sound packs
Korg TR Rack
DSI Evolver Desktop
Novation Bass Station 2
Arturia Minibrute
Novation Nova Desktop
Software wise I have Sonar 8.5 and on my Galaxy S3 I have Caustic 2 which is simply an amazing bit of music software. It has the most authentic CR-78 sounding kit I've ever heard! Very nice indeed. ;-)

Re: What synthesizers do you own?
Great to see the Fantom X still loved! I wish I could gig with mine, but, it's a tank. Also, I bought it when I lived in the US. Now that I am here in the EU - temporarily or permanently, not sure - I've found that at least in Holland, the stages in pubs are damned near microscopic compared to what I was used to in America, and I have seen very few keyboardists use 88 keys just because of stage real estate. Festivals are another matter and that's when I get to look like Pink Floyd and bust out all the gear. :) Had I known I would be moving here, I would have bought an X7 though. I really miss the Fantom on stage.
But at home in my studio, the Fantom X8 is STILL my goto workstation to sketch out ideas; I love my other gear, but, I don't know a single Kronos owner who does as I do and fires up his/her Fantom first for songwriting, jamming, etc. This silver beauty will ALWAYS have a very important place in my music and a very special place in my heart. I've been picking up a few tricks from YouTube - Ezra Bufford has some great tutorials on the X, and with Artemiy's Tweakbook, the X at least for me is still as relevant a workstation as the Fantom G, Korg Kronos, and Kurzweil PC3 - all "newer" workstations.
Andy, I am really glad you are keeping your X man!!
I'm sure some of you caught my most recent post and the "YAY" for the V-Synth. Sweet Mother of All that is Holy!!! This instrument is I N S A N E. Analog purists will most certainly scoff, but, V-Synth has cured my GAS for a Matrix 12 and perhaps every other real analog I had wished for. (Note, if someone has one she/he wants give me, well, of course I'll take it). V-Synth is a "fractal" synth for me in the sense that the farther I go, the more I realize I haven't even started. Okay, it doesn't do bread and butter sounds, but, I have those covered all over the place. So, those aside, I am beginning to wonder what this instrument CAN'T do in terms of pure sound design. By that I don't mean synthesis types, as I still don't have additive, but, in terms of getting very cool experimental but musically useful sounds this baby is a dream come true.
Sorry to go off, but, DAMN, I haven't felt this amazed by a pure synth in ages!!

Hello! :)
I have Nord Lead 2X and Roland V-Synth XT. Then there is also NI Maschine Mikro (the very first version) if that counts. This is it!

Re: What synthesizers do you own?
Impressive collection, Piaknowguy! What do you think of Roland JV1080 for the usual piano sounds? It seems that one of the local shops has it in stock (can it even be new?). As far as I know, it doesn't have expansions coming along, but it is still a something I need to find out. Doing a little reading online, sounds like a great little device with a power twice it's size. :) Since I have V-Synth XT and Nord Lead 2X, I was wondering about piano sounds and all the "bread and butter" sounds (if I call it right?). I would be interested in your opinion. :)
And, a newbie question, why do you call yourself a complete idiot about Roland Juno 60? Was it that bad? ;)
