TR-8s VALUE knob replacement

Post by tajnost »

Hello there!

I've got a defective VALUE knob (not the encoder, just the plastic cap ) on a TR8s drum machine. I used it for over a year and did not pay attention, but now decided to replace it. Can anyone tell if it can be ordered or purchased somewhere?

I've talked to local Roland Support, they forward me to an official service center. At the service center they told me they don't have parts or caps so better ask or order directly from Roland. Official support don't answer emails for months, so...

Maybe there's just a part# and I can just order it somewhere by myself?

Would appreciate any help on that!

I just bought a knob for my MPC Live 2 because I hated the stock one for the main dial knob, It was too small and crappy plastic.

I bought a big aluminum one off of Amazon. You just need to know what the stem size is for the knob, on the MPC it was 6mm. I am not sure what the TR8s uses, but I know 6mm is the most common. After you know the size just type in 6mm Knob into amazon and you will get tons of options, just look for one you think will work.

The knob I got for the MPC changed the whole machine for me.
