New project from existing ones

Post by Marko021 »

Hi to all. I'm new here and I'm sorry if I'm repeating topic.
Is it possible to create new project from several existing ones in fantom g or pc? I need to set patches with multisamples in live mode from two different projects and save it as new one? I found how to copy from one to another, but how to do this from scratch? Thank you

Multi-Sample patches can only be copied between projects, if tye samples are in ROM. Samples can be copied by hand between projects, but the samples need to start with the exact same sample name and sit in the right slot number to be found by the engine, if you copy the patch between projects. That's a lot of work to do by hand and will most likely not work, because we all make mistakes.
Best way to handle multi-sample patches (esp. with velocity layering) is to use Chicken Systems Fantom Creator. It copies all the samples into a new or existing project and rewires the patch to find them. The negative is that it makes new copies of each sample, even if some patches use the same user created samples. I am not sure, if you can still buy it though. It also only runs on old Macs and PCs who still run 32bit binaries. You either need a VM with Windows XP or are happy with using an old MAC OS. There is no way of using Roland Cloud at the same time, but a Fantom G driver will not work on modern OS's anyway, because companies lkve to abbandon their products, even if a simple recompile of the drivers would make our old stuff viable again. Planned Obsolesence is the sign of the times. Rant off.
